The 2025 Met Gala, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was a vibrant celebration of Black fashion, culture, and craftsmanship at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event featured a diverse array of tailored looks, vintage inspirations, and personal tributes, with standout appearances from numerous celebrities.


Rihanna made a fashionably late entrance, revealing her third pregnancy in a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble featuring a barathea wool Spencer jacket, a wool bustier bodysuit, a pinstriped skirt with a bustle, spectator pumps, and an oversized Marc Jacobs x Stephen Jones hat.


Zendaya, co-chair of the evening, embraced the theme in a white Louis Vuitton zoot suit designed by Pharrell Williams, paying homage to performers like Grace Jones and Gladys Bentley.


Cardi B stunned in a green Burberry suit by Daniel Lee, inspired by Victorian-era fashion. The ensemble featured a silk devoré shirt with ruffled accents and green velvet tailored trousers.


Lauryn Hill made her Met Gala debut in a butter yellow suit by Ghanaian designer Jude Dontoh, accessorized with a cerulean blue Hermès Kelly bag.


Whoopi Goldberg returned to the Met Gala in a Thom Browne tuxedo-inspired gown adorned with 350,000 sequins, paired with a top hat.


Co-chair Colman Domingo honored André Leon Talley with a custom Valentino ensemble featuring a royal blue pleated cape and a sequined gold-and-white linen bolero.


Diana Ross made a triumphant return to the Met Gala after two decades, wearing a custom Ugo Mozie gown with an 18-foot feathered train, embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren.


Doechii made her Met Gala debut in a Pharrell Williams-designed Louis Vuitton short suit, featuring a monogram tuxedo jacket and damier shorts, accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.


Lewis Hamilton, fresh from the Miami Grand Prix, co-chaired the event wearing a custom ivory suit by Grace Wales Bonner, including a cropped jacket, striped tuxedo trousers, and an embroidered sash.


André 3000 made a memorable appearance in a custom Burberry x Benjamin Bixby jumpsuit, accessorized with a grand piano strapped to his back, showcasing his flair for theatrical fashion.


Teyana Taylor, one of the night’s livestream hosts, wore an ensemble co-designed by Ruth E. Carter, featuring a tailored jacket and pants with symbolic embroidery.


Jodie Turner-Smith donned a custom Burberry look inspired by Belle Époque-era equestrian Selika Lazevski, featuring a burgundy leather outfit and top hat.


Doja Cat brought feline energy to the red carpet in a Marc Jacobs crystal pinstriped bodysuit, complete with a strong-shouldered wool jacket top and ocelot-print velvet intarsia body.


Damson Idris made a dramatic entrance in a full F1 race suit, later revealing a bespoke red suit by Tommy Hilfiger adorned with 20,000 Swarovski crystals.


The 2025 Met Gala highlighted creativity in tailoring, with significant representation from Black designers and artisans, making it a night of flamboyant fashion and cultural tribute.
