Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan Enter a High-Stakes European Game of Cat and Mouse in Apple TV’s ‘12 12 12’

Apple TV is taking audiences inside an elaborate heist from three very different perspectives with 12 12 12, a new eight-episode drama starring and executive produced by Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan.

The series will make its global debut Friday, November 13, 2026, with its first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through December 25.

At the center of 12 12 12 is an ambitious raid on a bank vault buried deep beneath the streets of Zurich. Rather than telling the story chronologically, the series unfolds across three interconnected timelines: the 12 months spent planning the heist, the 12 hours during which it takes place and the 12 days that follow.

The structure offers an opportunity to explore not simply how an elaborate crime is executed, but everything that leads to it and the consequences that emerge once the plan has been set in motion.

Mackie stars as a disgraced FBI agent who becomes locked in a zero-sum game of cat and mouse with an American career criminal played by Dornan. Their pursuit stretches across Europe as the series moves between preparation, execution and aftermath, gradually revealing the motivations and decisions surrounding the central crime.

Mackie and Dornan are joined by an international ensemble cast that includes Jack Kesy, Agathe Rousselle, Sallie Harmsen, José Garcia and Emmy Award nominee Kali Reis.

The series was created by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble, who also serve as executive producers. Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Kari Skogland directs multiple episodes, including the pilot, and serves as an executive producer.

Both leading men are also involved behind the camera. Dornan serves as an executive producer, while Mackie executive produces through his Make It With Gravy production banner. Samantha Corbin-Miller, David Knoller and Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment also serve as executive producers.

12 12 12 is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content.

For Mackie, the series provides another opportunity to move between blockbuster entertainment and character-driven drama, this time stepping into the morally complicated territory of a former federal agent whose pursuit places him opposite an experienced criminal. Dornan, meanwhile, takes on a character operating from the other side of the law, creating a central rivalry designed to evolve as the three timelines begin revealing more about both men.

The decision to build the series around the numbers in its title gives 12 12 12 its most distinctive narrative device. Twelve months allows the story to examine the relationships, strategy and vulnerabilities behind the operation. Twelve hours compresses the action into the immediate pressure of the heist itself. Twelve days offers room for consequences, pursuit and the inevitable question facing any carefully constructed plan: what happens when it is over?

With Zurich providing the setting for the central robbery and a story extending across Europe, the series enters Apple TV’s growing slate of internationally scaled dramas with a premise built around suspense, strategy and shifting perspectives.

And while the vault may be the target, 12 12 12 appears equally interested in the people trying to reach it and the people determined to stop them.
