Golden Globes Unveil 2026 Nominations as “Sinners” Surges Ahead of Awards Season
The 2026 Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, kicking the film industry into full awards-season mode — and confirming what we predicted months ago in our fall issue: Sinners is very much the film to beat.
Announced live from Los Angeles by actors Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall, this year’s slate spans 28 categories, including the Globes’ first-ever “Best Podcast” award. Among the most talked-about film races, Sinners secured multiple major nominations, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with contenders like One Battle After Another, Hamnet, and Frankenstein.
When we profiled the season’s emerging favorites earlier this fall, we spotlighted Sinners for its bold storytelling, atmospheric tension, and exceptional performances—qualities that seem to have resonated with voters exactly as anticipated. Today’s nominations only amplify that early momentum.
