“Sinners” and “Adolescence” Dominate: 2026 Critics Choice Award Nominations Set the Stage

The nominations are in for the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards, and clear frontrunners have already emerged.

Film Leads: “Sinners” Tops with 17 Nominations

Sinners is this year’s most-nominated film, earning 17 total nods and coming close to the all-time record of 18. Its nominations include Best Picture, Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, and Best Young Actor/Actress for Miles Caton.

Following closely is One Battle After Another with 14 nominations.

Television Favorites: “Adolescence” Reigns with 6 Nods

On the television side, Adolescence leads all programs with six nominations, placing it at the center of this year’s TV awards conversation. Other series from major networks and streamers also earned multiple nominations, including returning critical favorites such as Hacks.

The 31st Critics Choice Awards will air live on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 7:00–10:00 PM ET/PT on E! and USA Network, with Chelsea Handler returning as host.
