Whoopi Goldberg and Spike Lee Headline Star-Powered Day 4 at Tribeca as Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson Reunite

Day 4 of the 2026 Tribeca Festival delivered another packed slate of premieres, conversations, and celebrity appearances as New York City continued celebrating storytelling across film, television, comedy, and culture.

One of the day’s most anticipated moments arrived at the OKX Theater at BMCC, where audiences gathered for the world premiere of Happy Hours. The film marked the long-awaited on-screen reunion of Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson, delighting longtime fans who have followed the pair since their iconic television days. Joining them on the carpet and for the premiere were Constance Wu and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Norah Jones, who composed the film’s score.

The premiere quickly became one of the festival’s most talked-about events, generating significant buzz both inside and outside the theater as audiences embraced the reunion of two beloved stars.

Earlier in the day, reality television fans packed the venue for a special Survivor 50 panel featuring fan favorites Cirie Fields, Rob Cesternino, Kyle Fraser, Kamilla Karthigesu, Teeny Chirichillo, and Jonathan Penner. The celebration honored one of television’s most enduring franchises while giving fans an opportunity to hear directly from some of the personalities who helped shape its legacy.

Across town at the SVA Theatre, Paul Rudd brought star power to the world premiere of Rain Reign, one of the festival’s highly anticipated narrative selections. The venue also welcomed comedy legends David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, who celebrated the premiere of Bob and David Climb Machu Picchu, reuniting the longtime collaborators for a project that blends comedy, friendship, and adventure.

Actress and singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine was also on hand for the premiere of Only What We Carry, adding another notable title to a day already packed with high-profile screenings.

Meanwhile, at Village East by Angelika, Josh Gad attended the world premiere of Time Warp, while Alexis Bledel made an appearance for the premiere of Ponderosa, continuing the festival’s tradition of showcasing diverse voices and compelling storytelling across genres.

Beyond the premieres, Tribeca’s Storytelling Summit continued offering audiences access to some of the industry’s most respected creative minds. Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Josh Safdie joined Emmy-nominated writer, director, and producer Rebecca Miller for a thoughtful conversation exploring creativity, filmmaking, and the evolving landscape of storytelling. Later, Zach Woods took the stage alongside Saturday Night Live breakout Jane Wickline for a lively discussion that blended humor, insight, and personal reflection.

The evening concluded with the world premiere of the animated short Apart, drawing an impressive crowd that included Whoopi Goldberg, Spike Lee, and filmmaker Pola Maneli. Their presence underscored Tribeca’s continued commitment to championing storytellers across all formats, from major feature films to innovative short-form projects.

Four days into its milestone 25th anniversary edition, the Tribeca Festival continues to demonstrate why it remains one of the industry’s most important cultural gatherings. From major Hollywood reunions and world premieres to intimate conversations with some of entertainment’s brightest creative voices, Day 4 offered another reminder that Tribeca remains a place where artists, audiences, and stories come together.

And with another week of programming still ahead, the festival’s biggest moments may still be yet to come.
